Looking for a developer to extend on the open source client BEEM/aSmack (http://www.beem-project.com). We are looking to add the following extensions: XEP-0154: User Profile, XEP-0084: User Avatar, XEP-0234: Jingle File Transfer, XEP-0184: Message Receipts, and XEP-0085: Chat State Notifications.

The general idea is we are bringing XMPP over to Android and building it with a bunch of social features similar to Blackberry messenger. We are looking to replicate the functionality on Android. This client will contain the normal chat features with the ability for users to have profiles and status updates. Upon joining the user will have the ability to invite their friends either from the phonebook or through Facebook.

One of the most important parts of the app is the UI. We love the Android UI for Twitter and Facebook. We will provide a PSD of the UI which needs implemented. Detailed documentation and UI will be provided if the developer is determined to be capable of developing such an application after an interview. We require developers to sign a NDA and work contract confirming what needs to be done.
Please have relevant experience developing XMPP on mobile devices. Also a portfolio of past developed applications on Android is a plus.
