Only apply if you meet the following basic criteria:
- Be an EXPERT in – Web Development & Programming including but not limited to ASP.NET, MS SQL, and Telerik RadControls or similar, Ecommerce.
- Have design expertise.
- Must have developed Business/Corporate websites – with examples to show.
- Agree with pay for performance.
- English level at least 4 out of 5.
- Can provide 3 references in the US/Europe before starting work.

Fixed price – terms negotiable. I am looking for an on-going relationship so as the site progresses, you are there. I also have a database driven site for development in 2010.

Goal – redesign http://www.vaxainc.com

Design principles:
- Corporate look & feel – clean and “no non-sense” site. See reference sites below of good/bad sites.
- Content is the focus – don’t try to pretty it up with too many fancy graphics but use relevant graphics where appropriate. Few colors – colors must not distract from focusing the eye on the content. 
- Make it look like a “big company”.
- Let the CONTENT be the Focus – the content must be clear and well presented. The surrounding graphics must not detract from the content.
- Client case studies are very important – to be designed into the Index page and on different pages.
- Different layouts for different pages but this does not mean an infinite number of layouts.
- For the CMS, we must have control over all parts of the site once it is complete.
- You will provide all source files – e.g., graphics. Illustrator is the preferred tool to develop and modify all graphics.

Ideally – you will have at least one redesign to show on our first call.

- Ok sites – http://www.bain.com (exceedingly simple but very effective), http://www.kpmg.com .

Phase 1

- New layouts – e.g., Index, Main pages and inside pages.
- Blog implementation – public and private blogs. Public blogs are for registered users. Private blogs are project based blogs and there can be many of them. Private blogs are by invitation only. Private blogs are not known/visible to the general public. There is one public blog for the http://www.vaxainc.com and 1 public blog for each subdomain (see subdomains item later).
- Use existing content and adapt to new design. No new content. You will not be responsible for create/edit content but will be expected to incorporate existing content into new design.
- Podcast – integrating a Podcast capability for audio feeds – e.g., when we conduct an interview with someone.
- Project/Client login – secured part of the site including blogs and other client related information.
- Provide CMS – must allow us to change the location and format content.
- Use base design and create several subdomain sites – e.g., http://www.ip.vaxainc.com , http://www.channels.vaxainc.com , http://www.research.vaxainc.com . Provide the CMS capabilities to allow us to change colors, logo, and layout of pages. The CMS will provide us the ability to change color schemes, logo, and content placement.
- Phase 1 to be completed within 3-4 weeks of the start date.

Phase 2
- File sharing. Project based files - revision control. Files are shared on a “need to know” basis. This means, we will give access to certain files to those who need access to them. Allow all file types except those that can contain virus like executables.
- Live chat. Programmer to propose and discuss Live Chat software options.
- Further site refinement.

Phase 3 (very low priority)
- Ecommerce capabilities.

Some specifics:
- The focus of the index page is the project summaries – similar to the existing site. But the presentation of these projects to be improved. We want to add projects on an as needed basis.
- The presentation of detailed projects – as on http://www.vaxainc.com/content.asp?catid=88 , need to be significantly improved. Again, we need to add project on an as-needed basis and allow users to criteria based searches for projects – e.g., by industry, topic and so on >>> it is database driven.
- The presentation of people profiles on - http://www.vaxainc.com/content.asp?catid=11 – needs to improved – a user should not have to scroll down to see all profiles.
- We will go down to 4 main sections (major pages) with each section have subsections. The main section and subsections will have different page layouts.
- We want to use tool tips (or something similar) that allows us to put brief explanations under selected words or phrases. The explanations show onmouseover and disappears onmouseout. - Today, all publications on - http://www.vaxainc.com/content.asp?catid=86 – are in PDF format. We want to publish formatted articles on the web pages so people don’t have to open a PDF but we might include a PDF for download, if they want the article. Articles will be a combination of text and graphics with auto-paging like 
- The Vaxa logo does not change – meaning the design – but the color scheme can.
- We can share some of our sales presentations so you get a better feel for what we are looking for.
- How can we post audio/graphic presentations? For example, we might make a PowerPoint presentation with audio and want to place it on the site. How is this possible? We will also want to post a pure audio discussions.
