We are looking for someone who is very skilled in PHP and Design to help us complete a project involving Wordpress. We need several custom additions made to the script, as well as some design, cleanup of the existing database, and more. Below is further details on the project:
 
Site Name: To Be Announced To Awardee 
Description: Product review site where consumers post reviews of specific products. It allows for text, video, and audio reviews to be submitted.
 
This site is built on the Semiologic backend which as you know now is extremely similar to Wordpress. It is currently running on v5.7.2 and needs to be updated to v6.0-RC1 which are both on the FTP. Your job will basically be turning this blog into a full-featured review site with live audio and video uploads. The previous coder, Mike, was told to put "//MIKE" inside the code wherever he made changes. When you make the upgrade to v6.0-RC1, it would be best to find the changes he made already so you can easily implement them into the new install. Also, we request you do the same thing by leaving good comments so we can see changes you made and easily access them in the future if needed.
 
Instant Audio/Video Comments - Use Riffly.com to record live audio directly onto the site via a flash plugin, then have the blog host it for future use.
 
Upload Audio/Video Comments - Users should be able to upload audio files the same way they upload videos and possibly even with the same upload interface button.
 
Star Ratings Calculation - Each Product added for review will have star-values like Price, Value Size, and Power Consumption. These need to be automatic when users rate the product.
 
Rating Weighing - We need to implement a "Was this review helpful to you?" system where users can say whether someone's rating was helpful or not. The more or less the review is voted, the more or less that specific review weighs into the overall product average.
 
Terminology Change - Since this is build on a WP backend, the products will be posted as 'Posts' and user submitted reviews will be added as comments. We need those terms to change to something that fits the site better. For instance, the Comment might now be a Review.
 
Layout/Design - Although a basic design is already implemented, is does need to be cleaned up. The Ratings need to line up, some things look clunky and intrusive, etc. If you feel you could add a more sophisticated and clean design I might just let you wipe the whole thing. Site also needs a mini-icon for the browser. The nav bar will need to have text links, not image links.
 
Database Cleanup - I'm not sure if this will need to be done or not. From what I could see the previous coder hadn't messed with it, but I'm asking you to take a look and see if he did and if so, if anything needs to be revised or changed you can do it.
