I currently operate a file hosting web site and I would like to integrate a feature where users can upload file through FTP. Our current system runs on LAMP stack. Please note that I am looking for a custom solution, not purchase an off-the-shelf software such as CuteFTP or Serv-U FTP.

The FTP "daemon" must integrate without our own authentication system and a cron job would pick up files uploaded by user from a central repository and move it to respective server after the user completes the upload. If you would like to see the functionality, please check out hotfile.com or fileserve.com. You must register to get your unique username/password and test out their FTP functionalities.

If you have developed/written FTP server in PHP, or Perl, or Python or anything that's Linux based, I'd like to see it. I don't want anything that's Windows based.
