“Document Reader” - iPhone/iTouch application

Job Description:
Let’s say I have a big document file. For instance the USA Health Care Reform Bill, which is 100 pages of text.
It also has a table of contents.

This App will just have that one file. It’s a one file App. Could be a doc or PDF or whatever format will make the features most useful… we will just put the document into the app in the format we need it to be in. But would also be the engine for another App at a future time with a different file/name/splash screen/skin/etc.

You open the App and read that one file.

Features:
1) You can bookmark.
a. View bookmarks.
2) You can jump to a specific page.
a. Including quick jump back to table of contents.
3) Zoom in and out.
4) Turn it sideways.
5) You can take some notes.
a. Just one popup note screen is fine where all the notes will accumulate, just want to stay in the app.
b. Notes don’t have to be embedded in the document itself, just in a separate place is fine.
6) Highlight text with yellow or maybe a few different colors.
7) Email bookmarks and notes within the app.
a. They wouldn’t also be emailing the document, the recipient would go and download the document themselves.
b. Someone who did download the program, could then use the bookmarks to overlay back into their file.
8) Highlight a passage and email it.
9) Search text.
10) Font size adjust.
11) Type face adjust.

iPhone APPs with similar functionality
1) “Aji Annotate PDF” (by Aji). Lets you annotate the doc/PDF meaning underline, cross stuff out, etc… (could we do this too or at least do a highlighting thing, where words can be highlighted with yellow).
2) “Goodreader” (by Good.iWare). Has zoom. Ca search text. Bookmarks. Can rotate.
3) “Document Reader” (by Rudiger). You can rotate.
4) “LookSee PDF Document Reader” (by Kristof Kowalski). Nice looking app. Bookmarking. Go to a page.
5) “The Constitution of the United States” (by Appsessions). Font size adjustment.
6) The Further Adventures of Robinson Crusoe” (by iJour). Rotate text. Adjustable font size and type face.
