Overview:


This project will provide an online stock screener based on technical indicators. It will provide a JS based web front-end that will allow users to select search criteria, and then will return results to the user. This front-end component will need wo work as a Joomla (1.5/1.6) component.

There is also a back-end analysis component that will run periodically after market close to compute certain indicators available in the front-end and store the results in the database.

Front-end requirements:

1. The ability add/remove criteria to a search via a drag and drop or column addition (e.g. an arrow addition). Cross-browser capabilities are a requirement.


2. The ability to limit the number of criteria allowed based on free or subscription modes (preferrably through a Joomla admin component)


3. The ability to save and modify searches


4. Indicators will be grouped; e.g. oscillators, candlesticks, moving averages. Ability to modify indicator grouping will be controlled through a Joomla admin component.


4. Upon search, return a list of selected securities with relevant information and links to perform relevant actions; e.g. view a chart, trade, etc.


5. Ability to limit the number of returned results based upon free or subscription modes (preferrably through Joomla admin component).


5. Provide a method of adding additional indicators to the front-end through an "administration" interface (preferrably through Joomla admin component).

Back-end requirements:

1. Periodically, through cron, update securities database table with latest indicator values. Indicator functions currently exist in PHP. Security data will be provided from a proprietary data source.


2. Properly handle invalid/de-listed securities


3. Provide a method of adding additional indicators to the back-end through an "administration" (preferrably Joomla admin module) interface.
