Drupal CMS website: User log in, application has table for usernames:passwords, has table or tables of objects which can be checked out. General concept is that the user logs in, can look at grid view of all objects in catalog, can query availability, see status of item, and can make a reservation for the item. There is a module called MERCI ( manage equipment reservation checkout inventory ) which I think would be appropriate. I have gotten as far as grid views but have not determined how to finish this project. A nice addition would be a report that shows all items which are out and who has them. Another nice addition to the project would be a procedure detailing the steps to complete the project.
