We are a small company from the Netherlands which is specialist in consulting and implementing software distribution solutions within large organizations  Since virtualization of applications is becoming more mainstream nowadays there are still a lot of applications and other legacy systems that are not compatible. For this set of applications I want to offer a alternative way to deploy them.
So what we need is a application which can generate little executables that will replace ordinary start menu shortcuts.  The user will see/use them as normal shortcuts, but when they click on it the executable has a specific instruction.
First the exe checks the existence of an app (example: check if C:Program FilesAdobeReader 9.0ReaderAcroRd32.exe is there) if yes, acrobat reader will start, if not, a message will appear that informs the user is not installed and give a Yes/No option to install it. When clicked Yes,  an (unattended) installation will start. De location of acrobatreader.msi and the installation credentials will also be stored in the executable because the installation must be done under an admin account.
By user policy’s of logon scripts these executables are being distributed to the clients, another function of application is that it must be possible to select an active directory group (AD.intraAcrobat_Reader_Users RX)



Finaly the app must have a function to select an icon that wil be on the .exe
