<br />I'm looking for someone to design a logo and a header banner to be integrated into my forthcoming blog redesign. The name of the blog is Black Napkin and it is a food and restaurant blog, focusing on gourmet dining experiences. Its current design can be found at <span title="This information has been obscured for non-paying members"><font size="0.1em" color="#AAAAAA">&nbsp;&nbsp;[obscured]&nbsp;&nbsp;</font></span> , and what it will look like with the new theme can be seen in the attached image.<br /><br />The explanation behind the name Black Napkin is that most restaurants offer diners standard white napkins, but the rare restaurant will take that extra step and offer those customers who are wearing dark pants or dresses a black napkin instead. The idea is that a white napkin might leave lint on the dark clothing, but a black napkin will instead keep it looking clean. This is an example of exemplary and rare quality service, which is what I try and focus on in my blog.<br /><br />The first part of the project is designing the logo for Black Napkin. I'd like the logo to incorporate this same sense of dining elegance with a somewhat minimalist form. To be somewhat more specific, what I'm looking for in the logo is something that is both understated and elegant at the same time, or put differently, formal while still modern. My only strict requirement for the logo is that it contain the words Black Napkin, but whether it contains an image of an actual black napkin is up to you as a designer. Whatever best evokes the overall theme of the blog the best is what I'd like. The logo should be designed to look good both in the header banner on my website on the dark theme as well as on white business cards, where I'll also be using it.<br /><br />The second part of the project is integrating the logo into a header banner for the site. Please see the attached image file for the new theme of my blog and header location. The banner will take the place of the current placeholder image at the top and it is 800px wide by 150px tall. I would like the banner to contain the logo and to further represent the theme of the blog and to fit well with the dark colors. Because of the dark colors, it would be best if the banner popped with bright colors in some way. The goal here is to make my landing page remarkable in some way through the logo and the banner by making it unique, attractive, and memorable.<br /><br />The banner space could be filled either with high-quality pictures of food, drawings, or anything else that evokes the elegant dining theme. Some inspiration may be taken from sites such as The Amateur Gourmet, Serious Eats, Ulterior Epicure, Eater, and Restaurant Girl, though clearly what I'm looking for isn't accomplished by any of those blogs in particular.<br /><br />This should be a fairly quick, one-off job, though with a possibility of a fully-custom redesigned theme at some point in the future.<br /><br />I would like the final products (logo and banner) to be in vector (.pdf of .ai) format so I can resize them at will depending on my needs.<br /><br />My time frame is within 1-2 weeks of selection.
